Election Day!

Today is Election Day! Early this morning the girls jumped into bed with us. We began talking about Election Day and what it's all about and who's running and who we are voting for today and why. We decided we were going to bring the kids with us if we pulled up and there wasn't a line. We were at the church by 7:05am. No line!

Wrong. Instead of having us line up outside like we always have, they had us feeding down the halls of the church. We were numbers 171 and 172. We decided to stay and hope for the best. The girls were awesome. They were respectful of people's personal space. They played quietly, didn't whine. I was so proud. All in all, it only took us an hour and 20 minutes. We told the girls all about our American right to vote, and how it's a private decision and we shouldn't talk about it in the voting room. They were awesome. Right when we got in the voting room a lady walked over with three coloring books and a box of crayons. They sat in a corner on the floor and colored quietly while Charles and I went to our booths. We got our stickers, had someone take our picture and then we went out to breakfast. It's always nice to get compliments on my kids. Several people commented on how cute and pretty they are, and how sweet and well behaved/mannered they are. Way to go, girls!

*please take note to the pose Caroline is doing for the camera. This is the hand-on-the-hip/eyes-closed/sway-back-and-forth pose she pulls when she doesn't want to do something, like say... smile for the camera. She had just proudly proclaimed "I am NOT smiling for the camera!" Ha-ha! She cracks me up!

B, that's awesome that y'all took the girls to vote, and that they did so well. I took Julian with me, and I was glad we had no lines - if we'd had to wait an hour and 20 minutes, he'd have been climbing the walls. LOL
