Anyone?
On Saturday I took the girls to a local fundraiser for a mom in my community who has been diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. So sad... Anyway, they had a bouncy-castle there and some other out door activities. It was a beautiful day. I dressed the girls in shorts. I believe it was sometime that evening that I noticed a little red blotch on Caroline's inner thigh. It could have been a number of things. I didn't think anything of it. It wasn't bothering her, so I didn't think anything of it.
Fast forward to Tuesday afternoon when my phone rings at work. It's the daycare owner calling about Caroline. She has a rash. It's all over her legs and on her tummy now. I race to daycare, pick the kids up and it's off to the doctor's office. I get there as they are closing, at 5:30. A ton of questions, and $30 later it is determined it's hives. I've been weaning her off of the bottle (EBM) since I got back from St. Louis. Sending only one bottle a day. They've begun to offer cow's milk in a sippy cup at school, and I offered her some at the house. While I don't think she's drinking any of it - it's the only thing that has changed in the last week. And considering I was allergic to cow's milk as a baby as well as her sister, and my BIL - we just assumed it was that. A dose of Benadryl Tuesday evening and again Wednesday morning and off to school we go with the order of "NO MILK" for Caroline. I brought a 1/2 gallon of soy instead.
Wednesday, 2:30 - my phone at work rings. It's the daycare director telling me that they took her outside to play, and with in 5 minutes her body was covered with big huge welts. I call the Dr's office. They want to see her. Back in traffic. Race to daycare. Pick up the kids. Race to the Dr's office... Get there right as the doors were closing at 5:30. Another $30 and yep! Still hives! Gee - thanks. But now we're not sure what it is. She hasn't had milk since Tuesday. It's Friday now and she's still covered in welts. We're giving her Benadryl every 6 hrs and they're not going away. So what could it be?
I'm posting a picture. It's a crotch shot... but it the only one that came out remotely clear on my cell phone camera. This picture was taken Wednesday. It's since spread to her tummy, back, sides, and arms. :( Some of these welts are the size of quarters.

The ONLY reason I haven't freaked out is that they don't seem to be bothering her at all. They don't itch. They don't seem to hurt her. They're just there. She's breathing fine. She has no other symptoms.
Do these look like hives to you? She's been in school all week and no other student is experiencing the same thing.

Hi Carrie. :) She's getting better. I should post an update since it's something we're still trying to figure out.
Oh, poor baby. I had no idea you were dealing with this. I'm just glad they aren't bothering here.

Hey B, you know, those look like eczema spots. Ethan has severe eczema, though he has never had it only around that area. He has had it everywhere except (strangely) his chest and face!
