Caroline's Sleep Study

While on vacation this summer we noticed Caroline would stop breathing while asleep. Charles and I watched her for several minutes. She would stop every minute or so for up to 12 seconds at a time. It was super scary. I called for a Sleep Study when we got home, and the referral scheduled us for last night.

First of all, I LOVE our Children's Hospital. I arrived at an obvious shift change and was walking past hospital staff in the parking deck. Each person I walked past, smiled and said hello to us as we walked from our car to the elevator. These people had probably worked really long hours and were probably very tired, not to mention who knows what they witnessed during their shift... all those poor sick babies. But still had it in them to greet a random person and child entering the hospital. It takes a special kind of person to do that each day. I'm so greatful for all of them.

With that said - It went as well as can be expected. I was worried. She's 20 months old and well into her '2' stage so I was anticipating drama. But she did really really well. She trusts me SO much, you know? When the lady was hooking her up we were telling her they were putting 'princess gel' in her hair. She'd look at me for approval. Each time I'd tell her she looked so pretty she calmed down. She cried, but she sat very still. She was a super patient. Like Elizabeth always says "Caroline loves the bewbie." She was asleep with in 2 minutes and other than a few stirs through the night she slept straight through. We won't know the results for 7-10 days. But since they didn't come in through out the night and put her on O2 I'm going to assume everything is just fine. :woo:

Pics -

As we arrived. They have little wagons in the parking deck to tote your children around in. She loved it.

Hooked up to all of the scary wires.

We picked up Dunkin Donuts on the way home so everyone was happy. :) The girls are at school and I'm working from home today. :twirl:

I'm just so impressed. Annique's last hospital visit involved much less interference from doctors/nurses, and much more screaming and freaking out.

Way to go, Caroline!
